CII Representatives lauded the Single Window System
Chief Minister’s Initiative to Promote Industry and Generate Employment is Commendable, said CII Representatives.
Raipur, 16 July 2024/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that the state government will provide every possible support for the establishment of industries in the state. The government aims to establish new industries, ensure value addition within Chhattisgarh, and create employment opportunities for the local youth. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai made these remarks while discussing the recommendations of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) regarding the new Industrial Policy 2024-29. This discussion was held at Chief Minister’s residence office today. On the occasion, Secretary to Chief Minister Shri P. Dayanand, CII Chhattisgarh State Council Chairman Shri Ashish Saraf, Vice Chairman Shri Sanjay Jain, and members including Shri Narendra Goyal, Shri Anand Singhania, Shri Ramesh Agarwal, and Shri Pankaj Sarda were also present.
During the meeting, CII members appreciated the Single Window System, and lauded the efforts of Chief Minister to promote industries for generating employment.
In his address, Chief Minister Shri Sai highlighted the state’s abundant natural resources and valuable minerals. He emphasized on the wide scope of value addition for both minerals and minor forest produce in Chhattisgarh. He said that although hundreds of MOUs were signed over the past five years, but there was no sign of implementation of any. The state government intends to establish new industries to provide employment for the local youth.
Chief Minister Shri Sai acknowledged the significant suggestions provided by the CII regarding the new industrial policy, which will be forwarded to the state’s industry minister and the policy formulation committee. He assured that all the suggestions would be studied, and the best ones will be incorporated into the new industrial policy. He referred to the vision of our esteemed Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to make India a developed nation by 2047 and to make India the world’s third-largest economy within the next five years. In alignment with these goals, we are striving towards the vision of ‘Developed Chhattisgarh’. He announced that the new industrial policy and the vision document for a developed Chhattisgarh would be released on State Foundation Day, November 1.
CII members, during their discussion with the Chief Minister, appreciated the Single Window System in Chhattisgarh. They requested Chief Minister to establish a timeframe for the Single Window System. They acknowledged the significant potential for value addition in minor forest produce, dairy industry, and downstream industries in the steel sector. Chhattisgarh, being a power-surplus state, could also establish data centers that require large amounts of electricity. They also requested the inclusion of the real estate industry in the new industrial policy. On this occasion, CII members gave their recommendations and suggestions for the new industrial policies.
