Following the directive of Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Director of Health Services Shri Rituraj Raghuwanshi conducted a video conference on August 28 to review the health services across various districts. He instructed district administration officials to implement precautionary measures to address the prevalent diseases in the state. Chief Medical and Health Officers, Civil Surgeons, and Chief Superintendents of hospitals from various districts attended the meeting.

The primary focus of the meeting was to assess the current situation of diarrhoea and H1N1 cases, alongside the preparedness for their prevention and treatment. Shri Raghuwanshi also reviewed the status of malaria, dengue, Japanese encephalitis, and snakebite cases, evaluating the readiness of the health services to combat these diseases. Further, he reviewed the district-wise availability of medicines and consumables, particularly focusing on high-risk pregnancy cases under maternal health, maternal death audits, the current state of TB cases and related medication availability, immunisation progress, and the screening efforts under the Mission to eliminate sickle cell anaemia. He also discussed the status of bonded doctors joining their posts, the release of transferred doctors, and the condition of Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST) centres under NACO.
