Social media influencers from different parts of the country will promote “The Bastar Madai”
“Bastar Madai” offers a vibrant showcase of region’s cultural, archaeological, and tourist attractions.
Raipur, 31 August 2024/ Chhattisgarh government is actively working to promote and popularize the state’s tourist spots through a range of strategic initiatives and campaigns. In this move, to promote Bastar’s unique culture with flora and fauna online, Bastar administration invited social media influencers, who visited Bastar, explored unique indigenous culture of the region.
As per officials of Bastar administration, social media influencers will now introduce Bastar’s natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, unique social fabric and places of historical and archaeological importance the country and the world to. Hence, the officials of Bastar District Administration discussed social media influencers, who turned up from different parts of the country on Friday at Badal Academy in Asana.
Mesmerized by the Bastar’s unique historic Dussehra festival and natural scenic beauty the social media influencers expressed their consent to provide cooperation to establish Bastar on the global tourism map through ‘The Bastar Madai’ concept. Recently, the Bastar Tourist Circuit Map and Theme Music of ‘The Bastar Madai’ to promote the tourism sector in Bastar has been released recently.
Bastar Collector Shri Vijay Dayaram K was present on the occasion. Outlining the qualities of Bastar, he said that in view of various religious rituals during Bastar Dussehra, which lasts for about 75 days, the administration has launched the concept of ‘The Bastar Madai’ to make tourists aware of the natural beauty, historical and archaeological sites, adventure sites, cultural sites of Bastar along with Dussehra festival.
Under Bastar Madai, tourists will get an opportunity to visit and understand other places in Bastar. He said that in ‘The Bastar Madai’, water-body related tourist places of Bastar have been displayed in blue colour, forest related places in green colour, caves and archaeological sites in brown colour, tribal culture and Bastar’s Haat-Bazaar in yellow colour. While spiritual aspect of region including temple of goddess Maa Danteshwari and historical Bastar Dussehra are marked in red colour.
Bastar Tourist Circuit Map has highlighted information of around 42 tourist places in four colours and route information along with brief description of the places and information about transport services, railway, air and road to reach Bastar district. Earlier people used to come to see the famous Dussehra, Chitrakote waterfall, Tirathgarh waterfall, Kutumsar cave of Bastar.
Social media influencers honoured with Dhurva Tuwal
During meeting, social media influencers and youth from different parts of the country said that they will tour the whole of Bastar region in next two years and fully participate in preserving the qualities of Bastar. On this occasion, the collector honored all the social media influencers and youth by presenting them Dhurva Tuwal, which is related to Dhurva Tribe, who present this garment to the guest who visits their house as a mark of respect. On this occasion, the folk culture of Bastar was also seen in Badal Academy, in which traditional folk artists mesmerized the audience by presenting attractive Dhurva folk dance and Dandari folk dance. Folk artists of Badal Academy performed a melodious presentation of Gondi folk song and gave an inspiring message to see, understand and comprehend Bastar.

Madai (Celebration of Culture) is a gathering in which various cultural dimensions, community participation and heritage of Bastar are tried to be depicted in a lively manner to the tourists. The aim of the is to promote tourism including showcasing the natural beauty, rich culture, abundant mineral and forest produce wealth of the Bastar region as well as the historic Bastar Dussehra festival and places of archaeological importance on the global platform.
